Life Skills Program
The Life Skills Program is designed for students with significant academic difficulties to develop skills needed to function independently in the home, school, or community environments. Students will work towards developing skills necessary to function as independently as possible in the community and to the best of their ability. Each student’s program is designed to meet his or her individual needs as determined by the student’s team. The team may consist of the student, parents, special service teachers, administration, and outside services personnel. Each student has an ITP (Individualized Transition Plan). This plan outlines the student’s outcomes and objectives for the present school year and are decided upon by the team.
As a student nears graduation, various outside agencies are used to ensure a smooth transition to adult life. Examples of such agencies are Adult Services, Market Abilities, and Career Connections.
